Guadalupe Urbina y Voz Propia han estado trabajando con niños en la región de Guanacaste para el año xxxx último, el desarrollo de producciones teatrales que le dio las habilidades artísticas de los niños, que aumentaron su autoestima, que les proporcionó un sentido de dominio de sí mismo, y que dio ellos un sentido de contribución a la comunidad. Las producciones se llevaron a cabo en toda la región de Guanacaste y en ocasiones en la capital San José. Con los años sus alumnos creció y comenzó a participar en el mismo tipo de trabajo con los niños en sus propias comunidades. En 200x Guadalupe decidió convocar a sus ex alumnos con los directores culturales de Guanacaste. El resultado de esta reunión fue la formación de GUANARED, que es una organización y una red de artistas y dirigentes culturales, que se apoyan mutuamente en el desarrollo de proyectos de artistas para los niños. La organización tiene una reunión anual donde los miembros se reúnen para hacer negocios, compartir recursos y disfrutar de unos a otros. Guadalupe, Julia Urbina y Voz Propia son los fundadores, las abuelas de esta organización, y la GUANARED ha propagado a la mayoría de las provincias de Costa Rica donde las comunidades adopten este modelo de trabajo con los niños. GUANARED ahora también participa en las reuniones internacionales de artistas en América Latina para compartir su modelo, su visión y su trabajo.

Guadalupe Urbina and Voz Propia have been working with children in the region of Guanacaste for the last xxxx years, developing theatrical productions that gave the children’s artistic skills, that enhanced their self esteem, that provided them with a sense of self mastery, and that gave them a sense of contribution to the community. The productions were performed all over the region of Guanacaste and sometimes in the capital San Jose. Over the years her students grew up and began to involve themselves in the same kind of work with children in their own communities. In 200x Guadalupe decided to call together her former students with cultural directors from Guanacaste. The upshot of this meeting was the formation of GUANARED, which is an organization and a network of both artists and cultural leaders who support each other in developing artist projects for children.  The organization has an annual meeting where members come together to do business, share resources and enjoy each other.  Guadalupe, Julia Urbina and Voz Propia are the founders, the grandmothers of this organization; and the GUANARED has now spread to most provinces in Costa Rica where communities adopt this model of working with children. GUANARED also now participates in international gatherings of artists in Latin America to share their model, their vision and their work.
